How to Make Concrete Mini Trees

Materials You’ll Need:

• Quick-setting concrete mix
• Water
• Mixing container and stirring stick
• Silicone mold in a cone or tree shape
• Sandpaper
• Optional: Acrylic paint in muted, earthy tones
• Small paintbrush
• Thin wire or string for hanging

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Prepare your concrete: Mix the quick-setting concrete according to package instructions. Aim for a consistency similar to thick pancake batter.
2. Fill the molds: Carefully pour the concrete mixture into your silicone molds. Tap the molds gently to remove any air bubbles.
3. Let it set: Allow the concrete to set according to the package instructions, usually a few hours.
4. Remove from molds: Once fully dry, carefully remove the concrete trees from the molds.
5. Sand if necessary: Use fine-grit sandpaper to smooth any rough edges or imperfections.
6. Optional – Paint: If desired, paint your trees in muted, earthy tones. You can paint the entire tree or just add accents.
7. Create hanging loops: Carefully drill a small hole at the top of each tree, or embed a small wire loop into the concrete before it fully sets.
8. Add hanging wire: Thread thin wire or string through the holes or loops for hanging.

Tips:

• Create trees in various sizes for a more interesting display.
• Leave some trees unpainted for a raw, industrial look.
• Group several trees together on a mantle or shelf for a minimalist forest scene.
